The Colour

Popped into the powder coating place this evening to see if they could easily strip the paint of the frame with the sand blaster.

Well, after 2 mintues in the blaster my forks came out spotless.
Will drop the frame in tomorrow morning and hopefully will have it back by the end of the week freshly painted in green. Here is a sample of the green:

Also won on ebay this evening this great looking carbon 1" forks:

These will go with this wheel that I won last week:

The Strip

As I was using my new frame to create a fixed wheel bike I wanted clean lines on the frame.

The frame was designed to have gears as has lugs for the routing of the rear mech cable and also had a shifter mount on the down tube. I wanted to remove these as I won't need them once the bike is built. These are originally brazed onto the frame using copper so are easy to remove as copper is a soft metal. They just needed breaking off and then filing / sanding down.

Here are some pictures before removing the lugs:

and after:

All the lugs taken off:

First Post - New Project

Well to start this blog off I am going to talk about my latest project.

I want a new bike for my commute to and from work which is 12 miles each way. I normally do this on my mountain bike but I recon I can cut the time it takes drastically by doing it on a road bike.

So I have decided to make a fixed wheel bike.

First I bought a frame on ebay, £16 for a vintage - BARGAIN:
